A brand-new gameplay teaser for Civilization 7 that showed a February 11, 2025 release date made waves at Gamescom. Before you start the much anticipated sequel, you still have some time to spend. If you're searching for anything to pass the time, we suggest reading Sid Meier's Memoir: A Life in Computer Games. The biography, which was written by Jennifer Noonan, the author and designer of Civilization, is a great read, especially for aficionados of the game (of course).
The book includes Meier's life narrative as well as his thoughts on "the history of the industry, the psychology of gamers," among many other insightful things.
The hardback is a terrific option if you like reading physical books, but the paperback will save you five dollars. Ebook fans may get a copy for just $10, but audiobook fans—those who prefer to listen to books while playing games or during their morning and afternoon commutes—might want to give this one a try.
You may purchase the audiobook for $15, but Audible subscribers already get access to Sid Meier's Memoir for free. For thirty days, new subscribers can test Audible for free. Although the book is part of Audible Plus ($8/month), if you qualify for the free trial, we would advise going with Audible Premium Plus ($15/month). Additionally, one Audible Credit per month for use on books in the Premium catalog, including new releases, is a perk of Premium Plus. You can retain these books even in the event that your subscription expires.
